Coming from the southern sub-region of Bordeaux, France is Sauternes (and its neighboring region, Barsac) where a very unique style of wine is made. Affected with “noble rot”, the fungus Botrytis Cinerea, the grapes of Semillon undergo significant changes to their aromas and flavors resulting in a unique and absolutely delicious dessert wine.
