As people once again enjoy traveling and mingling free from COVID restrictions, Wine Spectator looks forward to gathering with longtime readers and new friends at its annual Grand Tour tastings, and tickets for the three evening events are now on sale.
After a highly successful run in late 2021 after a year off due to the pandemic, the Grand Tour will be returning to its usual spring period, with two exciting new locations to provide a fresh take on the event. As always, the Grand Tour walk-around tastings will feature at least 200 wines rated 90 points or higher by Wine Spectator‘s editors, along with a delicious selection of food and a souvenir Riedel wineglass. This year’s dates and venues are:
- June 4: Las Vegas, at Resorts World Las Vegas
- June 10: Washington, D.C., at the Ronald Reagan Building
- June 18: Hollywood, Fla., at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
The first major resort to be built on the Las Vegas Strip in over a decade, the sleekly designed Resorts World Las Vegas offers three different hotel experiences, a 117,000-square-foot casino, a five-pool swim complex, luxurious spa, 70,000 feet of shopping, a state-of-the-art concert and entertainment venue showcasing stars like Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, and more than 40 restaurants and bars including a Las Vegas branch of Wally’s, the Beverly Hills wine shop, market and restaurant that holds a Wine Spectator Grand Award for its wine list.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino completed a $1.5 billion expansion in October 2019 with the opening of a new resort complex that includes the world’s first Guitar Hotel and the seven-story Oasis Tower, which overlooks a new 13.5-acre pool lagoon. Additionally, the property unveiled an expanded gaming floor, new luxury spa and salon, a 7,000-person capacity Hard Rock Live entertainment venue, retail shops and more. Three of its restaurants—Abiaka, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and Cipresso—hold Wine Spectator‘s Award of Excellence for their wine lists.
