Dry farming wine grapes in the Alexander Valley, California

Octogenarian grape grower Ed Scherrer reflects on the history and benefits of dry farming grapes in California’s Alexander Valley. Ed feels that vineyards that are irrigated will produce more fruit, but not live as long as dry farmed vines.
