*Recipe Club Makes… MARGARITA SANGRIA*

Nikita Klaver’s Margarita Sangria | The Recipe Club Wine Episode (Season 2, Episode 11)

FULL RECIPE BELOW!

When Recipe Club put out the call for wine-based-beverage recipes, did we imagine that we’d be discovering Dave’s new favorite drink? No, but sometimes miracles happen. Today, Rachel, Chris, and Dave take the plunge into the cross-cultural Canadian elixir known as Margarita Sangria.

This season, we’re tackling listener-submitted recipes—if you tackle this one, too, let us know in the comments below!

NIKITA KLAVER’S MARGARITA SANGRIA
(WITH NOTES FROM THE CLUB)

750ml bottle dry white wine*
1.5 cups tequila
1 cup fresh orange juice
½ cup fresh lime juice
Orange and lime slices
A few cilantro stems†

Mix everything in a pitcher, chill,†† and serve. This is very strong, and the last time I brought this to a potluck everyone blacked out.

Recipe Club’s Notes:

* Consider a sparkling wine for more of a sangria margarita spritz

† There’s no authenticity hemming you in here, so leave these out if they taste like soap to you. Also consider adding some agave or simple syrup if you want this a little sweeter.

†† Definitely chill in the fridge if you can stand the wait. Ice will dilute this down too much.
