Sip-Size – An Introduction to the wines of North East Italy

This 45-minute session explores the wines of North-East Italy. This romantic and picturesque corner of Italy, hugging the Austrian, Swiss and Slovenian borders, produces distinctive wine styles that are not only unique but adored.

The three main regions – Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige – produce a wide range of styles with a focus on crisp whites, fruity reds and its famous sparkling export – prosecco.

We’ll cover the main grape varieties, terroirs and wine styles of the regions whilst tasting three wines that allow members to savour some of our favourite examples.
